Highly Variable Flowback Rates

What combustion device is required for EPA OOOOb compliance at a tank battery?

An enclosed vapor combustor (VCU) connected to the tank battery vapor manifold via a closed-vent system is the standard OOOOb compliance approach: 95% VOC reduction, auto-ignition, and continuous flame monitoring required. HPS VCUs ship OOOOb-certified with a PE-stamped design calculation and monitoring plan included.

Can one VCU handle multiple tanks in a battery?

Yes: a vapor manifold collects vapor from each thief hatch and routes it to one VCU. HPS sizes the unit for the combined peak vapor rate from the battery and determines the manifold connection type based on tank layout and local regulatory requirements.

How do I know what size flare to order for a new well?
